This guitar was a project to produce a replica of Jimmy Page's 1959 Les Paul Standard. It began with a very early Gibson Les Paul Classic (1991), which was sent to Historic Makeovers in Lake Mary, FL, where it received their Standard (paint) makeover package. There is a before/after shot included in the photos here. In addition to the finish, using aniline dyes and unplasticized nitro-cellulose lacquer in vintage correct color, several of the plastics (pickup rings, toggle tip, poker chip, aged inlays, and nylon nut) were replaced with Historic Makeover's RetroSpec parts. The original pickups were replaced with a set of Bryan Williams of Australia, made to closely replicate those in the Jimmy Page '59 Les Paul. The guitar retains the original tuners, and the original brown Les Paul hardshell case. The original electronics, pickguard, and truss rod cover. are also included.
